Sing me a Lullaby. I stalked through the terra, my usual silent steps made loud by the wet ground under me. My canvas was soaked. I shivered visibly as I searched for a den... anywhere warm. I lay my audits bad, stopping and letting out a low howl, the dirge just loud enough to be heard a mile away. I whined. I felt alone... I continued walking, slower than before, but still moving. The brown male snorted lightly, as his coat dripped with water. He glanced up at the stupid skies. They never stopped crying. He froze slightly, hearing a howl. It was a soft one. He lifted his muzzle, and responded.

Please, say it again. I turned sharply and bolted for toward the sound. I soon came upon a male. I slid to a stop. What in the world? I lowered my skull and let my tail fall between my legs, a submissive gesture. I peered up at him from under the long fur atop my head.

Zelphar chuckled at the female's submissiveness. He watched her quietly, not looking her in the eyes. "You have nothing to be afraid of," He reassured.

I lifted my skull. I spoke, my words tainted with a Russian accent. "Ok... You don't happen to know... where I could find a warm den...?" I took a fearful step to him.

"A den?" Zelphar nodded slightly, then turned away from the female. "yes, Follow me." He sighed, and began walking out of the wet clearing and towards the forest.

I trotted after him, a slight whimper escaping from me. I raised my paws high, head low.

"Here," Zelphar said. They where infront of a large cave. It was his old den. "Don't go in to far. You'll get lost," He said, then turned away from the female to head to his own den.

I nodded a thanks, "Thank you......" I curled up in a corner, shivering again, I could hear my own teeth chatter.

"You're welcome," Zelphar nodded as he left. He soon reached his own den. It was smaller, cozier, and warmer.

Tough old world, baby.
I shivered still. Feeling alone. I stood slowly, shook myself, then curled back up. I needed to hunt... But who would want to hunt in such weather? Not I. I thought. I soon fell into a light slumber, thunder booming all night long... Lightning making the sky bright every now and then when I woke during the night. I simply curled up and dozed once more whenever this happened.

Zelphar snorted as the sun shone in his eyes. Stupid sun. He stood and snorted. His stomach rumbled...He was hungry. He walked away from his den, sniffing the air. There was hardly any deer around. The storm must have scared them off. Either that or all the wolves. He settled for a small rabbit that just happened to cross his path.

Fantastic.
I squinted at the sun. The cool air flowed into my nares. I stood, my belly still a bit damp. I padded outside. Hearing a sound in the brush. I dropped, stalking. I leaped as I heard it again, bringing down a small doe. I lifted my head, howling. A habit I needed to rid of. Taking a bite, tugging at the rough hide of the animal. A low growl rumbled from my chest, I lay down, paws on the kill. My maw drenched with fresh blood. The animal had finally stopped moving. I ate what I wanted, dragging the rest into the cave.

Zelphar ate his rabbit in a flash, bones and all. Sighing, he turned away from the bloody mess and walked towards the female's den to check on her. He reached the den and could easily smell the bloody mess of deer. He ignored it. "How was your night,?" He asked.

Surprise, baby.
I perked my audits toward him. "Fine... And yours?" I asked shyly. My husky, Russian voice faded, auds falling to the side. I shifted my lean legs under myself. Waiting for his words to fill my skull again.
