Mercury blinked back tears as he saw the foal for the first time. He was adorable. He smiled at Claria and went up to the foal. "Hey there, little guy," he said softly.

Claria looked down at the foal, and smiled brightly. He was...beautiful. The little colt tried to stand to reach his mother, but fell down. Claria gently nudged the foal back up encouragingly, her eyes bright with happiness.

Mercury laughed. "What should we call him?" he asked gently.

"I don't know," She said, looking at the colt's shining purple coat. "Indigo?" She suggested as the colt began to nurse.

((So funny.))
Mercury nodded. "Indigo is perfect." His mood changed suddenly. He felt like he had before he met Claria; cold and hardened. His eyes flashed red. "I need... to get... away..." he said through gritted teeth. It was like he was having a hard time talking. He turned around; but his legs felt like they weighed a thousand pounds. "Take Indigo... and get out of here!" he yelled. His body began shaking, and the grass around him burst into flames. The fire didn't spread; it was in a ring around his body.

Claria looked fearfully and nodded. She began to nudge Indigo, trying to make him run. Still being a newborn, Indigo could barely walk, let alone run. She needed to get away, fast.

Mercury screamed as his body convulsed and shook viciously. The flames shot up into the air, but kept their ring shape. He stopped for a moment. "Help," he whispered. The flames engulfed his body. He thought for sure he would be burned to ashes. But instead, he stepped out, still alive. His coat was burning, but not his skin. The evil in him turned to look at Claria and Indigo, who were struggling to get away. He laughed. It wasn't a friendly laugh, it was more like a bone-chilling, humorless laugh. It was absolutely terrifying.

Claria looked back at the laugh, her eyes in near tears at what she saw. "Mercury..." She whispered. She suddenly knew she needed to get out of here, fast. She began to nudge Indigo again, rather harshly, forcing him to run. They needed to go! Indigo began to pick up the pace, still at a small trot.

Mercury looked at Claria. 'NO!' the decent part of him screamed in his head. He knew what was going to happen. He couldn't do it! he struggled to regain control, but to no avail. He watched in horror, trapped in his own body, as a ball of fire was hurled at Claria. "CLARIA!" he screeched. He broke out of his evil state and turned back to normal. Too late.

The ball of fire moved at breakneck speed. She looked behind her and saw the blinding ball of light heading towards her. She quickly shoved Indigo to safety, just in time. She was engulfed by the flames, burning her instantly. her lifeless body collapsed. She was dead.
(MY BABY. D: SHESDEAD. -crying in real life-)

Mercury ran towards Claria's body, tears streaming from his eyes. "No," he choked out. He looked up at Indigo. "I... I-" Why was he talking to Indigo? The foal didnr't understand what happened. Mercury thought he should have left right then and there. But.... he couldn't leave the foal. He was all that was left of... her. He blinked back tears and sttempted to compose himself. "Don't be afraid," he said softly. What was he saying? His own son was probably terrified of him.

Indigo backed up, his eyes scared. He glanced towards his mother...Was she sleeping? He looked back at Mercury, and took a nother step back.

((Another is one word.))
"Indigo.... I'm sorry. Listen, you're mother... isn't.. here.... anymore...." Mercury blinked ack tears. Now was not the time to break down. He took a shaky breath. "But I'm your dad. I will try to protect you, and I swear, what happened today will never happen again." This was a promise to himself and his son. "Do you understand?"

Indigo looked at the strange stallion before him. Should he trust him? He took a shaky step forward...then stumbled towards him and fell right underneath him. He froze slightly.
(after all this baby stuff, could we time lapse to when he is older? Around a year?)

((Shya. When do you want to stop and time lapse?))
Mercury chuckled. He took a step back and looked at Indigo. "Indigo, you have to trust me." his eyes softened. If he didn't trust his own father... then there was nothing Merury could do. He would have to leave him to fend for himself.
