Indigo looked up at his father, and nudged him slightly. He had no choice. It was either trust or die. He stood again, and watched Mercury silently.

Mercury smiled. "Alright, now let's try out your new wings." Mercury shot up into the air. He felt relieved.

Pshyes.)
Indigo looked up at his father, then at his own wings. He flapped them once...They where rather large. Snorting lightly, he ran, flapped, ran, flapped, until he was off the ground, barely one foot up in the air. Giggling with joy, Indigo urged himself higher and higher, so he could be next to his father.
(One year later, you post first.)

((ONE YEAR LAYTAH))
Mercury was laying on the ground, snoring. He was deeply asleep. The sun was rising over the horizon. It was beautiful. Indigo was sleeping nearby. Since that fatal day when Claria was....... Mercury had not lost control of himself or turned evil. There had been some close calls, but he was doing well. As it turns out, Indigo can also control fire. Mercury had been teaching him to control the flames and not get out of hand. He hoped that Indigo wasn't corrupted, like his father, with an evil side.

Indigo had been up since first light. He was bored on this fine day. Sighing, he turned to his sleeping dad. "Dad," He nudged him gently," Wake up," He said, trying to wake him. But, it was no use. Mercury was deeply asleep. Rolling his eyes, he trotted off to look around the clearing. He knew every nook and cranny of it, but it was still fun to just, run around. He sighed, and walked to a small river near by. Perhaps he should practice his flames? He began to do just that, creating bending the flames into various shapes over the water.

Mercury groaned as the sunlight shone through his eye lids. He yawned, stretched, and got up. He looked around. "Indigo?" he called out. He walked over to the stream, and watched silently as he practiced his power. 'He's pretty good,' he thought to himself.

Indigo began to try more complex shapes. He tried his father...It looked almost exactly like Mercury. Then he tried himself, but that didn't look so good. He let the flames drop into the water, and watch the steam rise up. He turned around, and nearly jumped a foot of the ground. "Don't sneak up on me like that!" He said playfully.

Mercury chuckled. "Sorry, but I didn't want to interrupt." He took a step forward. "You're getting really good," he said. He looked over to the river, and above it, a fire likeness of Indigo burst into exsitence. He made it gallop around a bit before it fell into the water, sizzling and steaming.

Indigo watched in awe at the fire. "Maybe one day I'll be better then you," He smiled, and nudged him jokingly. "So what do you want to do today?" He asked.

Mercury shrugged. "Hm, I'm not sure. What do you want to..." he trailed off at the sound of some rustling behind them. He whipped around and took an aggresive stance. "Who's there?" he shouted. It was more than just a squirrel or normal forest animal, he could feel it. A small horse with a white horn on her head tumbled out. She looked up at Mercury with big, innocent eyes. "I-I'm sorry, sir," she said fearfully. Mercury relaxed his offensive stnace up almost smiled at the filly.

Indigo cocked his head at the filly that had popped out of the bushes before them. "Hi!" Indigo greeted, trotting up. "Who are you?" He asked, noticing the horn on her head. She had one of those thingies too, eh?

Sunny smiled at the colt. Wasn't he afraid of the big stallion? Maybe he was the colt's father. "I'm Sunny," she said brightly. She stood up and shook out her coat. She gawked at his wings. "Whoa, what are you?" she said. She walked closer and inspected his wings. "That's so cool," she breathed. She wished she could fly. Mercury watched Sunny. She was adorable. And to think, he thought she was a threat. Ha!

"I'm a pegasus," Indigo smiled, and spread out his wings. "What are you? Why do you have a horn on your head...and Why do I have one?" He asked, and looked up, or tried to look at the horn ontop of his head.

Sunny looked at the horn on his head. She shrugged. "I dunno," she said. "Was your mommy a unicorn? Both my mommy and my daddy were unicorns. I wish I had wings though," she said sadly. "Oh, by the way, what's your name?" she asked. Her voice was cute and child-like.

"My mommy wasn't a unicorn, at least thats what my daddy told me." Indigo smiled. "I'm Indigo, whats your name?" He asked happily. He had found a new friend.
