The white tom trotted quietly along the borders of his clan's territory. He was on patrol, with his apprentice Moonpaw. His ears pricked as Frostfur continued on, marking every so often. He turned to his apprentice. "Smell anything?" He asked him, his tail flicking slightly.

The small, white tom looked up at his mentor, flicking his tail lightly. Moonpaw looked to their right, back toward the clan's camp, when he saw a small, dark figure. "Frostfur, what's that?" He hissed lightly, his ear twitching as he watched it carefully.
I can't let them see me.. They'll hurt me.. A million thoughts ran through the she-cat's mind as she raced through the DuskClan territory. She stopped, looking around, before she quickly jumped up onto a tree branch. Those eyes.. Those bright, blue eyes.. They saw me. Dusky's ears flattened against her head, watching them, trembling in terror. She jumped up to a higher branch as the smaller tom took a step forward, watching her every move.

Frostfur followed Moonpaw's gaze towards the dark cat. He watched for a moment. "A loner or rouge..." He took a step forward. Frostfur knew very well he couldn't fight the she-cat in the tree, so he watched for a moment more. "Stay here," He said to Moonpaw, before bounding up the tree, to hopefully drive her out of the tree and out of Duskclan's territory.

Dusky watched as the warrior came towards her, jumping onto a higher, thinner branch. They'll hurt me.. They'll never understand.. She winced at the thoughts of being hurt and abused, memories flooding into her mind. She closed her eyes tightly, a low growl growing in her chest. She opened her eyes, glaring down at the tom with piercing green eyes. She let out a hiss, before turning to look at the apprentice, who was running back towards the Clan.

Frostfur balanced himself on a stable branch, glaring up at the she-cat. "You have entered Duskclan territory! Get out or suffer!" The tom growled, his tail flicking irritably. He jumped on another branch, this one closer to the female.

"Such a foolish tom. It's cats like you that entertain me. Now, if I were you, I'd leave. Just like your apprentice. I don't want anyone to get hurt." A dark smirk appeared, Dusky's eyes becoming more like venom, more deadly. "Oh, and I heard that DuskClan was a welcoming, caring clan. Seems like the opposite." She murmured, sitting on the branch and licking a paw, looking somewhat bored. "Now hurry along, return to your clan."

Frostfur's eyes narrowed. "We are a welcoming clan," He snorted, his ears pinned back. "But only to those who aren't total mouse brained freaks," Frostfur hissed, unsheathing his claws. He would fight for his clan, no matter what.

Dusky let out a soft, annoyed sigh. "Say what you like, I've got nothing to hide." She muttered, her ear twitching. She watched him with her bright eyes before laying on the branch, closing her eyes. She breathed lightly, her eyes opening, their original color back. She blinked a few times, her vision blurry, before a white blob in front of her began to clear up. She let out a frightened mew as she saw it was a warrior, and jumped back a bit. "Please.. Don't hurt me.." She mewed, before jumping down and running away.

The tom glared at the she-cat. He was very annoyed by this black cat, and wanted nothing more then to rip her face off and send her out of his clan's territory! He lifted a paw, about ready to swipe at the cat, before she bolted out of the tree. Snorting and sheathing his claws, he watched the cat run, before carefully getting out of the tree himself and heading back to camp.

"Frostfur! What happened? Did you fight her? Did you win?" Moonpaw bounded around his mentor as he returned to camp. "I know you said to stay, but I wanted to come get Winterleaf. But she's out hunting." He added, jumping on Frostfur. "But anyways, tell me everything!"

Frostfur looked at his eager apprentice, letting out a slight purr of amusement for his eagerness. "We didn't fight," He answered. "The coward left before I could even claw at her." Frostfur said. "C'mon, lets get back to camp."

"Well, you never know.. She could have a really bad life.. She seemed like she was scared when I saw her. Like, really really REALLY scared." Moonpaw replied, standing on his hind legs and jumping up each time he said "Really". "Oof.." He muttered as he fell on his back, shaking his head. "But still. She didn't seem like much of a threat."

"I think it was just an act," Frostfur said as they walked. "She didn't seem that way while I was up there." He answered, the leaves fluttering down around them as they reached camp entrance.

"You don't know that, Frostfur. Stop making assumptions." A low, muffled hiss came from the entrance of the camp, Winterleaf padding out on her way to continue hunting. "I've seen her around, near the border, and even out of all clan territories. She's extremely timid. I was friends with a tom who raised her, and he told me a lot about her before he was killed. But, if you're going to make assumptions, I guess I won't tell you." She mewed teasingly, nuzzling Frostfur's shoulder lightly.
Moonpaw looked at his paws, shifting awkwardly when Winterleaf approached. "Uhm.. This is.. Awkward."

Frostfur's ears perked as he heard Winterleaf's mew. He listened quietly, then turned to face her. "I'm sorry for making assumptions," He meowed, "Now tell me about her? Please?" He asked, begging like a kit begs an elder for a story. Then he turned to Moonpaw. "Why not go see if the elders need their bedding changed?" He asked him, then turned back to Winterleaf.
